“Aftermath” Sweep Arpeggio Guitar Solo

“Aftermath” by Ed to shred If you wondering who Ed is,well he was a guitarist on you-tube about a year ago,his profile was cancelled but he made a comeback for the dean shredder search taking 1st place………..then he disappeared again This is an amazing piece of music, the arpeggios just flow so evenly and create a warming melody, very melodic yet still portraying a minor sound. Ed is an incredible guitarist and I wish him well whatever musical path he is talking since we stopped hearing from him. I tabbed this by ear but I made a tab for anyone that wants it: www.ultimate-guitar.com Hope you enjoy this video, check out my channel for more videos: www.youtube.com

sweep picking doesn’t HAVE to be an arpeggio, and there are plenty arpeggios that can be played without sweeps.

Sweeping is just moving the pick across multiple strings in one direction in one fluid motion without starts or stops.

@clubby9806 — you have everything wrong… i suggest you look over sweeping and arpeggios over again… and some music theory. or if you dont feel like doing any of those, KILL YOURSELF.

@clwnz777 hah, thats funny, cause I’ve taken 3 years of music theorey class and you probobly haven’t even looked it up on the internet…

Arpeggios exist in more than guitar, and can be played across octaves, so techincally there are some arpeggios that CANNOT be sweeped.

I suggest you stop going on assumptions and actually pick up a book.

thats nice, seems like they’ve gone to waste eh? i know that arpeggios have many different form, some of which you wont play on guitar. i play piano… some shit you do there you could never possibly play on the guitar. but the point is, sweeps are BASED on arpeggios. you cant just play any random notes or else it will sound like shit.

@clwnz777 Sweeps aren’t based on arpeggios. Thats liek saying alternate picking is based on triads.

Sweeping is a right hand mechanic independent of what the left hand is doing. Sure, In shred and other fast music styles its essentially only used for arpeggios, but there are plenty of slower songs that sweep across chord shapes that don’t follow arpeggio patterns

sweeping is moving the pick across multiple strings over an arpeggio, but only allowing 1 note to sound at a time. arpeggios are based off of chords since they are the notes of a chord. Am chord and arpeggio are based of the 3 notes A,C, and E. the sweep would also be done with those same notes. of course, there are MANY variations to chords, but as long as the notes of the chord are there, you can build an arpeggio, and from that, sweep. difficult to explain in small detail.

@clwnz777 Very true, but I’m just saying that sweeps do exist seperate from arpeggios

@clubby9806 if you are breaking up a chord pattern by a sweeping motion it is an arpeggio. and arpeggio is a chord broken up. and essentially any sequence of notes could be considered an arpeggio because if you put those notes together you will make a chord albeit a very off sounding one

@alexisthemandingo dude, do you really believe that every series of notes played are arpeggios? C’mon now…

@Nickn00bslayr Schecters are fucking amazing. and not “all” deathcore and metalcore bands use them, for instance Bring Me The Horizon, Suicide Silence, and Killswitch Engage aren’t known for using Ibby’s.
