Animals as Leaders – Wave of Babies – Preview for Full Cover by Alex Taylor

I’ve been learning this piece for external entry into my grade 8. I found the pieces in the book really dull and thought I might as well take the exams with some pieces that are a bit more challenging! This is recorded from the emulated output of my Behringer LX1200H into a Tascam US-1641 interface and then Logic 9. I played along side the original song for this cover (thanks AAL), but will make a backing track for when I record/produce the full cover. It’s been the first thing I’ve learned that has SERIOUSLY challenged me, in that I’ve had to take it down to an impossibly slow speed and just learn it note-by-note, slowly building up tempo to get the sweeps and licks up to speed. Sweeping on more than 3 strings was completely new to me, so I found skipping to 7 quite tricky. Nonetheless, I’ll persevere and release a full cover (maybe even full band with my brother), as soon as I can! This is also my first video using all 8 strings of my beautiful Schecter Hellraiser C-8. I love this guitar more than any I’ve ever played and if you haven’t, go check out Schecter guitars as you may find yourself converted! Email me with any questions, feedback or advice at malagutial@gmail.com, or through YouTube. Oh, and don’t forget to comment, rate and most importantly, Subscribe! Thanks for Watching!

    @TheLoneWolf719 That’s not irony, that’s co-incedence.

    @ThrashedKidder All true. And I have one question, how is the access to the upper frets on that?

    Nice, I didn’t even know Schecter had an 8 string.

    I hope the full cover uses a camera stand or a better cameraman.

    Anyways, you look like the kid from Terra Nova.

    And on another note, that was a simply badass cover. Are you going to play to a backing track?

    @malagutial The reason Tosin holds his thumb that way is because he hybrid picks.
