Basic Arpeggio Finger Pick – Part 1 Guitar Lesson – How To

How to do a basic fingerpick in a 6/8 time signature. This is an attempt to show how I do it… Form a G chord , then right hand fingers line up thus- thumb alternates between 4, 5 and 6 string. Index finger plucks 3 string, middle finger plucks 2nd string, ring finger plucks 1st string….stay there, practicing the right hand until you can do it in your sleep! Then head on over to Basic Arpeggio Finger Pick – Part 2 to continue the lesson. Low E string is a little out of tune – deal with it. Arpeggio (from Wikapedia): An arpeggio is a group of notes which are played one after the other, either going up or going down. The notes all belong to one chord. The chord may, for example, be a simple chord with the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes of the scale in it (this is called a “tonic chord”). An arpeggio in the key of G major going up two octaves would be the notes (G, B, D, G, B, D, G).
