Did I Learn How to Play the Guitar Fast, Slow, Normal?

I am about 4 months into playing the electric guitar. I am by no means "good" at it, but I can play many songs. Some examples of songs I can play over 95% flawlessly are every song from the Misfits Static Age and Walk Among Us and half of Earth AD, Kill The Poor, California Uber Alles, Lets Lynch The Landloard, and Chemical Warefare by Dead Kennedys, Back To Back by Underdog, and various other 70s/80s punk songs. Is that good or average for 4 months, or is it slow?

I am also heavy in writing 70s and 80s style punk. I have about 20 songs written completely and they are all pretty good. Is that normal for 4 months of guitar playing (I never picked up a guitar before Jan 09)?
Do note- I know chords only by tabs, and I never took lessons. I just picked up a guitar and started playing (after looking up some tabs).
Because it was mentioned as a factor, I am 15 years old. I never knew how to read music. I only do tabs. No lessons, all self taught just by playing a lot. Same way I began to write. I probably play about an hour a day average.
Also since that last answer mentioned it, I did learn about 15 songs without looking up the. One of them is A Day In The Life by Murphy’s Law, which I was forced to do anyway since the tabs are not online. It took me the whole day, but I got it.

i think its definetly good and fast but it depends on if u think ur fast or not…what u compare urself too. I’ve been playing for 2 and half years and i cant play nearly as many songs as u can, but my teacher has been working me through a series of books that go on levels…i’m on book three and the songs are all classical, but the difficulty level heightens with each song. It depends on if ur self taugh too or how u learned, because everyone is different and has different teaching styles….another thing that matters is whether or not u knew how to read music when u started….but if u only read tabs then u wouldnt have had to ( i had too but already knew how from violin) again another thing that matters is ur age….i started when i was about 12 and it was harder to pick up..if ur older like in ur late teens early 20s then u have bigger fingers and probably have a higher advantage at speed to someone say at my age

Tis good…….and sometimes what matters is why you play? Not what you play. You play because you got something to say!

Hard to tell when we can’t see for ourselves. Do you have a mp3 or video?

Many times a person perceives that they’re playing correctly when they’re really missing the subtle notes or playing from an incorrect tab.

-If your songs are truly good (not just 3 power chords looping) and contain some theory then you’re doing a superb job at learning quickly.
