For Those Who Got the Guitar Sweeping Down…what Picks Do You Use..hard, Medium, or Soft Ones?

Could you also tell me the mm of your pick? Thanks!
Also, when you hit the strings, do you lightly graze over them or do you put some force into it?

I like to use a medium or hard pick. It all depends on what you feel most comfortable using. If you like softer music, usually a soft pick will work best. Use the medium or hard picks for louder music.

The pick I use right now is a 7mm. I do switch frequently. You should buy a range of pick styles and sizes to see what you like best.

It all depends on what kind of tone color you want. For a moonlight serenade, you probably want nylon strings, a soft pick ( or your fingers) and a very gentle pluck or strum. For hard rock, You probably want steel strings, the hardest pick you can find, and strum as forcefully as possible. Personally, I prefer my fingernails.

I always use Medium picks for fret slides and scrapes.
Why? Because the Heavy picks make my strings go out of tune real fast. I only use Fender Medium Celloid picks…
a 12 pack for $3.99 at Guitar Center.
    Good luck
