Guitar Arpeggio Question?
I have seen a lot of people playing Arpeggios down the neck all the way. Are they just taking the chord shape and moving it down the neck?
Example:
e|—————0-4-5-4-0————————————————–|
B|————2————–2————————————————|
G|——-1-2——————2-1——————————————-|
D|—–2—————————2——————————————|
A|0-4——————————-4-0————————————-|
E|—————————————————————————–|
What chord would that be? It says its Amaj7 but a Amaj7 chord looks like this:

Yeah thats exactly what they are doing, its phrasing they are just playing the same note sequence on different parts of the neck, that is a scale in the key of A major its not a chord in itself but quite a few versions of the A chord could be made using different combinations of the notes in that scale. Hope that helps
Chord shapes can be played on any part of the neck.
