Guitar Arpeggios

www.homestudioland.com This video shows you the basics of arpeggios on guitar. Arpeggios consist of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th note of the scale or mode that you’re playing. The Major scale and its modes from first to last are Major, minor, minor, Major, Major, minor, diminished… and so are its arpeggios! Arpeggios are chords in essence, just ‘arpeggiated’ out and the notes are played individually rather than altogether like in a chord. Some ideas for applying more arpeggios to your playing are to combine scales and arpeggios one after the other and mix them up, and another GREAT idea is to replace a chord progression with an ARPEGGIO progression. It makes for some great lead work.

It’ll come naturally over time. We have trouble finding them at first both theory-wise and switching between them, but it’ll be a breeze for your fingers after a while.

You’d be surprised at how many people I’ve met that play a righthanded guitar but are actually lefthanded. Michael Angelo Batio is one hell of a guitarist that comes to mind that has done this.
