is it important to learn guitar scales?
i wouldn’t say im really good at guitar, but i’d say im still kinda good. my brother thinks hes a big badass at guitar, but he isn’t really. all he plays is Alice in Chains and other grunge stuff. and hes only good at their solos and NOTHING else. im better than him in all other aspects of guitar. i want to become better than him at soloing, and i want to know if learning all the scales and things is really important. i already have good excersizes that i do to gain speed, but i want to know if i need to learn scales to get really good. im also trying to learn to sweep pick, and ive read u need to know scales to do that. any one know?
