How Can I Get Back Into the Groove of Guitar?
Ive been playing guitar for almost 3 years. i haven’t improved much after the first year. I can almost sweep. can play songs like crazy train, sweet child o mine. i know scales like blues and minor.
I would still like to get better. I can write my own stuff worth shit.
My hardest problem is getting back into the groove of playing or getting the motivation. ill pick it of once or twice a week and play stuff i already know. Eventually i just put it down and do something else
Dude, I was the same way, learned all the tab I could , played all my Metallica riffs, and whatnot. Then I got bored with it, and my guitar sat for three years. Then I picked it up a again and went down the same path playin other peoples licks, then something great happened. I hooked up with a great drummer, bassist, and lead guitarist. We jammed together for like six months. I learned more in those six months than in 9 years playing solo. Plus I got ten times better. Try it, find some folks to jam with.
