How Do I Tell if My Homing Pigeon(s) Is a Girl or Boy?
I have 3 white pigeons. One of them use to squawk, but know it’s a rumble and it comes when I open the cage or sweep up the mess. The other, flew away on the second day. We caught him/her back and it use to bat it’s wings and peck real hard but it must’ve com down. But it still rarely pecks. The last, Boone, is the nicest one. He (or she, I just call him a boy) He just lets you pet him (kinda scoots away, but not much like the others). He doesn’t peck, or bat his wings! He lets you pick him up and doesn’t try to get away! Please, oh please, help me with my brids!
The one that makes the little short growling noise when you open the cage is a boy. That’s their "tough guy" sound.
The girls for the most part never make any noise at all. Males will strut around and make the typical courting cooing noises, and will get all puffed up in the neck. Watch to see who the male is courting and you will know that is a female. Females also are much more slender in the neck area, and for anyone who knows pigeons, it is a dead giveaway. Young males however look no different than the females. By the time they are about six months old, they are pretty easy to tell apart just by looking at them.
look above its nose, if it’s yellow, pink,or blue it is a boy
