How Do You Sweep-Pick?
I know alot of chord variations and am a smooth transitioner, but I want to get away from chords now and focus more on soloing…I can’t get the hang of sweep-picking at all though. Is anyone REALLY good at describing what they should do with their hands?
oops. for the perverts out there (you know who you are), the last sentence refers to sweep-picking
i like how i get a star point but no answer

Yeah, I think I saw ‘Sweep-picking’ described on ‘Legally Blonde’! First, you Swweeeeeeppp… Then you… pick! I think it was during the scene where the UPS guy comes in and the Fingernail Lady has a crush on him so Reece Witherspoon shows her how to sweep-pick to get his attention. I think they used one hand for sweeping and the other hand for picking. Okay, I have no idea but like how the words look together (sweep-pick) lol ;P
P.S. You should start a band and call it The Sweet Pickle Sweep-pickers! ;p;
You’d be better off having someone there personally demonstrate it for you.
Hell, YouTube it. Bound to be somenoe who posted an explanatory clip.
Writing it out would be kind of lengthy. Plus what I might think would be a clear explanation might cause you to go: "…..whut??!"
Sweep-Picking is basically a technique in which you drag/slide your pick down the strings. I mean you don’t really pick them but, just slide your pick down and play an arpeggio or something with your fret hand. You take a chord, break it into single notes, make an arpeggio out of it and then play each note. The reason that many people find it tricky because when you’re new to this, it is really difficult to get that left and right hand coordination.
