How Is Sweep Picking Hard?
i’ve done it a while without even knowing there was a name for it. i’ve found it incredibily easy and i dont know why everyone thinks its advanced. i told my friend this and this kid at school said i’m probably not doing it right but he brought his guitar the next day and i did it and they were blown away
the technique by itself isn’t "advanced", but having the dexterity to rapidly sweep through REAL and complicated arpeggio shapes isn’t something a beginner can do.
Real being the keyword. not just the random fast notes that beginners seem to think sounds so cool.
Also it takes SOME skill to have it come out clean as opposed to the slop of notes that most people seem to think is acceptable
If i had to guess you probable aren’t doing it well, but most people that would be "blown away" by someone just because they know how to sweep isn’t someone who would know the difference between good and bad sweeping in the first place.
