I tried to add this comment with a tab, but youtube won’t let me put it up. is the shape he’s playing like this ?

    (E string 12th fret, E string 15th fret*, A string 14th fret, Dstring 14th fret, D string 17th fret*) and then reverse, *=right hand.

and am I correct in saying every note is played as a hammer-on type motion, with no pulloffs etc. ?

@teaismylife247 No, im hitting the 12th fret on the E and G strings with my left hand and the 14th frets of the A and D string with my right

Nice technique, but I think it would help you’re presentation to record the output of the bass and not from the camera mic. I’m hearing all of the string noise and it’s making it hard to follow exactly what you are doing.
    Thanks for sharing your vids!

@McTacoKingHutJr It looks and sounds beautiful. I’m not much of a bassist, I’m using a borrowed ibanez, but I think you’ve truly found your weapon of choice, eh?

@w00per nice. I’ve tried it on a 6. it sounds sweet on a neck pickup if you can mute everything right.

Where do you find the arppegios or chords, you are using? Btw this is an awsome help!

@Metalized123 they are all the same shapes moved around! once you know the note relations to other notes you can find these anywhere. to find the third of any note, pick a note, then go one string higher and one fret back to find the major third or two frets back for the minor third. to find the fifth you pick a note and go one string higher and two frets up. the octave of a note is always two strings and two frets up from the root. mess around with these notes and the shapes in my video

@DaPlaya319 Yes you most definitely can put this in a death metal song. I do it in my band! look up on youtube the song Labyrinth by Aptera. You will definitely hear the part where I arpegiate the chords of the song on bass
