How to Improve My Finger Speed on Guitar?
ive been playing for 2 years so im decent to good but i still cant sweep pick and go insanly fase with my fingers yet what are some good things to do
i can play alot of intermideate songs and some advanced so thats my skill
Playing chromatic exercises WITH a metronome. It improves speed, accuracy and timing… all at the same time. Don’t be like the dunce above me and start only at the 12th fret. Then you’ll only be accurate at that fret and above. Start on the first fret, and work your way up the entire fretboard. Remember, there is no easy way to learn guitar, and there is no quick way to becoming a great player, and there are no shortcuts… so don’t look for any shortcuts. Put in the time and effort, and results will come in time.
Create various chromatic exercises, not just simple, 1,2,3,4…. you’ll want to also come up with some that require stretches, like 1,2,4,5 or 1,2,3,5 or 1,3,4,5 and finally, 1,3,4,6.
Also, use a metronome while practicing the major/minor scale and pentatonic scale. Learn how to do 3 octave scales and grouping.
Finally, practice songs that require you to play really fast. I’m sure you know a lot of songs that have fast solo’s, so start learning them. But also learn songs that require fast picking, like some metal songs, and even surf music like Dick Dale’s "Miserlou".
These are all things I was never told about, because I never had a teacher or anyone to show me these things, until 13 years later. Over the last couple years, my playing has grown exponentially.

I recommend Dave Celentano’s book: Monster Scales and Modes, for not only a complete list of scales and modes but it also goes into detail and shows the value of understanding these patterns. From my experience with developing speed, start with going slow and practicing along side with a good metronome. If you can’t play it clean slow, I would hate to hear how it sounded fast sloppy. The reason for that is to develop technique and precision in your playing, to where all notes accurately played with the same consistent tones, picking technique, etc. Focus on the speed and movements of your right hand as well, since most newbie shredders focus only on the speed and precision of their fret hand, and not the picking hand
you should do cromatic scale from 12th fret 3 times a day
and another scale but i for got it…ill edit when i remember
ps plz make me best if u want and plz guys get me god votes and rates i am trying to get levels up ….not trying to be rude sorry
