If you are truly interested in the beautiful music a guitar can make, there is no hurry. Only if you are trying to impress someone would you want to take a shortcut. Good guitarists play for themselves. There is no trick. Spend time getting to know the instrument.
dont suck
practice, there isnt anything else i can tell you and then maybe you could join my band
1 learn the string names
2 build up Clausius on your fingers
3 learn how to tune
4 discover your way of strumming. Everyone strums differently
5 start learning open chords, one at a time i.e. G A C D E
6 one you memorized the chords, start practicing switching from chord to chord
7 Keep adding to your chords and then you can start learning songs
* REMEMBER TO PRACTICE EVERYDAY
If it were that fast and easy to learn to play guitar, everyone would do it.
There is no substitute for practice, practice and more practice. You have to train your hands to do what you want, and develop "muscle memory" so that you can think "G chord" or "C chord" and your fingers automatically go instantly to the right fingerings without you having to consciously think about where to move each one.
The ONLY way to achieve that kind of muscle memory is through repetitive practice. It does NOT come fast and easy.
EAT BANANAS THATS WHAT I DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM A MASTER NOW AND MAKING 500 DOLLAS AN HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pick three songs with three basic chords G, C,& D, for instance. search "free tabs for guitar" You may not be a country music fan but George Jones has more than a few and they are easy to play. play them until you got it down smooth. then pick three more with one more chord and so on. I recommend practice min 1 to 2 hours per day but not all at once. 15 minutes at a time will do. In three months you will have calluses on your fingers, know 20+ chords and 40 to 60 songs
good luck
