I Can Sweep Pick Back but Not Forward?
I suck. I’ve been playing for 7 years and i have a temper and very low patience. If i can’t get it i just start getting annoyed and i sometimes throw my guitar across the room. I can play fast solos. I play heavy metal mostly but i can also play a shit load of other styles like classic rock classical and even flamenco but i lose my patience with sweeping. I learned to sweep pick backward when i didn’t know what it was but now when i try sweeping forward i blow balls. is there any way i can learn. I stopped using teachers because they always made me nervous by screaming at me. Lol. Maybe I’m just a fail of a half a human being. I think thats why. Rofl.

dont feel this way.. sweep picking is very hard, even for experts. my guitar teacher plays in a great band and has been playing for over 40 years. he said he tried sweep picking and that it’s something you really have to practice, a lot more than most other things. he said that you should[you as in me; i asked him how to sweep pick] just start off slow and get accurate and just slowly increase the speed. the hard part is getting your fret hand accurate with your picks. this is what meakes sweep picking hard. it’s just like riding a bike.. the more you practice eventually you will learn how. it just ‘clicks’ and you will understand it. i myself cant do it and dont plan to for another few years lol.
but this really is something that takes time. just practice. if you really want to learn how to sweep pick i think you should learn the value of patience first haha. oh and it might help if your guitar isn’t broken.. most of the time they break if u throw it :/
