      Hi Bobcat

First, try sweeping with 3 and 4-note sweeps on the first 3 strings.
Then do a 4 and 5-note sweep to eventually sweep a 7-8 note arpeggios.

If the natural harmonics ring out, it’s because you are not suppose to finger the notes lightly and not lifting the fingers fast enough. As you are sweeping, lift the fingers immediately one by one after sounding them. As soon as you hit the last note, the fingers should already be of the fingerboard.
The secret is to push the pick downward with the thumb as if strumming and and last note of every sweep ends with an up-stroke.

Here is a good site to learn how to sweep…..

Try palm muting or picking your finger up exactly before you pick the next note. I know a guy who uses his thumb on the right hand (picking hand) to mute the strings to keep them from ringing out like that. There are any number of ways, but the whole point is to make sure that only one string is sounding at a time.
