I Have Sweep Picking Problems?

any time i sweep pick, open notes don’t ring out, but natural harmonics do. how can i stop this?

    Practice. You must either be hitting strings you aren’t supposed to hit, or hitting strings when they aren’t held down properly. Also, use your palm to mute strings that you’ve already hit when you want them to stop ringing (I was never very good at that, but I’m not real big on sweep picking either).
