I Seriously Can’t Sweep Pick on Electric Guitar?

I would really love to learn how to sweep pick on guitar, but I’m getting no where trying to teach myself how to, I know all the basics, practice crucially slow at first to make sure I’m not letting any notes or strings ring out, and I’m making sure my hand knows the scale or position before I try to go faster, but right now, i truly feel like I will never be able to actually sweep pick, I can’t get anywhere with it! I am good at almost everything else though! Like I’m working on learning the guitar solo in Afterlife by Avenged Sevenfold, I can play the really fast parts no problem, but there’s sweep picking in there and I can’t do it!!! Its really frustrating me! Does anyone have any tips at all or websites I can go to that will help me improve on sweep picking? Please let me know, thanks!

My main problems are: letting unwanted strings ring out (and notes for that matter), not muting the strings properly after I left my fingers up, and that’s really it.

I’m trying to do it as well. You know at one point I said I would never be able to play a bar chord. But now it’s the easiest thing in the world. I think I’ll get it, and you will too.

I have a youtube video about all of this in my favorites, but youtube is "down for maintenance" so it won’t let me click on the video. When I can get to the video I’ll give you the link.
