    Jeez, this is actually quite tricky. I don’t like sweep picking either but I’d rather be able to do it first and THEN say I don’t like it! lol

    That is similar to the way I used to practice sweeping when I wasn’t good the only difference is I started with the higher notes and worked my way up to the lower ones.

    ok i got a problem i need some help with i used to be better at sweeping than i am now which i dont know what happened no chnage in practice time or anything but what is happening is everytime i go for the downstrokes my thumb mutes all the notes im hitting its fine when i go up thoguh. so what can i do i tried moving my hand in all different positions but my damn fat thumb is getting in the way help me!!!

    angle your pick when down stroking so that the tip is slightly closer to you, and try different picks i love the Jazz 3 picks but there pretty small.

    also look at how some of your favorite guitarists hold there pick and the angle of it when they down stroke, and then the angle of it when they upstroke, its hard to catch at fast tempos, so watch the lesson on here that Jeff loomis did for “psalms of Lydia”

    haha i do use jazz 3s and they rule also jeff loomis is my favorite guitarist i have seen all of his work thanks anayway but i have corrected my problem already and im playing shit like miles of the machines now!!! ha but thanks for the response anyway man later
