Hi Rob ! man, you’re too kind..thanks man
Hey ponch do you know of any websites I can go to get tablature of cool stuff like this on a website. I need to practice these kinds of things. I am only 16 and really want to start playing some really technical metal, like dream theater. I want to play as good as you how did you learn?
“Thanks for watching”? Thank you man, I’m gonna work on these arpeggios they sound so cool! And wow, you got some speed there!
thanks girliegirlie17
hi Nightlite08, I’m sure you can browse on google/yahoo to find some nice sites about guitar tabs. I wish you all the best with your music and playing

Thank you BrandonWasntHere707
hye ponch.. thanks a lot for all your lesson. now, i can sweep appeggios even i’m a lefty player.your lesson is easy to understand than the others. thanks a lot!!!
does anyone know why they’re called modes and not scales?
No matter how much I practis, all I get for my trouble is a very soar hand.. especially the 3 notes per string way. I never seem to improve. I’ve put lots of time in LOTS! I’ve tried playing things really slowly to the point where I lose the will to live, and again.. soar hand no results. Do you think there are some people who put the time in and see results and others who no matter how long they spend playing will never get good at it? I’m starting to think I’m just genetically shite!
i think it’s because modes are a group of things within something else. like D dorian, E frigian, F lydian, G mixolydian, a Aeolian and B locrian are all variants of the C major scales. So they’re not scalse.. strictly speaking. they don’t contain a set of new notes as would written in the key signature part of a piece of music. like they all use A B C D E F G in different orders. different ‘modes’
Well scale is a series of notes which diatonically define a tonality of key or mode. In other hand, mode refer to scale pattern in formula/pattern system. hope it helps
hey man, i always try to teach my student that music isn’t so much just about mechanical practice, i believe that it’s more to the mental issue. just like to learn how to ride a bike it’s not how fast u can go but it’s more about our balance to stand on two wheels without falling.so when u’re comfortable with your balance then everything will come together without even you realize it. Don’t feel bad and overdo in practice.. u just need to enjoy every minute of your practice. best luck my friend!
hi casperkid, you;re welcome my friend! I’m glad to hear that you’ve nailed the sweeping arpeggios down! awesome
hey sir!isnt it that major scales are the mother of all scales?so if incase you’ve memorized all major and minor scales theres no problem in playing?
don’t just memorized it, but try to ‘understand’ it so you can apply and make your music more effective and creative.
if you played the first 3 notes of a major scale on the same string e.g. frets 5, 7 and 9 of the E string for a A mojor scale. how would you finger it? would you use fingers 1,2 and 4 or fingers 1, 3 and 4? one seems strong but uncomfortable and the other seems weak but comfortable. which do you prefer?
