    @freddy692000 I don’t know how many times I’ve mentioned this, but the built-in microphone in the Macbook phases HORRIBLY!

    It’s pretty easy to spot if you’ve got any sort of recording experience. Even if you don’t, if you’re a guitarist you should be familiar with a phaser, this is sort of phasing out in the wild (rather than a controlled effect)

    @LukeSniper i understand and i know the phaser effect but this is really hilarious dude dont u think?

    @freddy692000 if you find the sound humorous, whatever. I’d say it’s more unfortunate that the microphone was so poorly designed. I know what it sounded like when I did it though. (good)

    No matter what you do, it phases. Really fast high-notes are the worst (you can actually hear the volume fluctuate). Basically, the only way to avoid this problem is to NOT use that microphone, and I didn’t have the capacity to simultaneously record from 2 inputs (voice & guitar) when I was doing these videos

    You’re played them wrong, but since this is a pretty old video I’m assuming that you’ve already figured out your mistakes in this video. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, feel free to ask, I’ll be more than happy to reply.

    @solidiquis1 Other than playing the Jarzombek part as straight quintuplets (instead of 6 5 5 4 as he does), I don’t see any problem with how I’ve played anything.

    So please, enlighten me.

    @LukeSniper It’s hard to see but it looks like you’re first arpeggio is an F# minor arpeggio. As opposed to playing C# on the A string, you’re hitting a D natural.

    It’s hard to see exactly what you’re fingers are hitting through the video so I may be wrong. Either that or you’re guitar’s out of tune because the sweeps don’t sound right.

    @solidiquis1 Why do you need to SEE? Why can’t you use your ears and listen? If you did, you would clearly hear that it is a Cmaj7 arpeggio, and it’s played correctly.

    The arpeggios in the video (not counting those in the solos), in order, are Cmaj7, Dm7, Em7, Fmaj7, G7, Am7, Bm7b5, G, Gm, E and Em

    The guitar is in tune, but the phasing masks a few fundamentals and makes things sound weird.

    Also, you need to learn the difference between “you’re” and “your”

    @LukeSniper I’m really not sure how he’s confusing a C and an F#m. The chord you’re playing and the chord he mistook it for have no notes in common. Music is an aural medium, not a visual one.

    @LukeSniper Your signifies possession in most cases.
    You’re = You are. “My Bad.” Forgive me for grammatical errors.

    And if you’re so sure that that is a C Maj7, please enlighten me on what notes it consists of because that sounds nothing like a C Maj7.

    @solidiquis1 The shape I am using goes C E / G / B / E / G B and back down (slashes indicate string changes)

    Watch update 2. 7:24 in is the same exact shape. It’s Cmaj7 no matter how you slice it.

    Seriously dude, you’re just looking more and more ignorant with each post.

    @LukeSniper ahhh, ok. I see. You’re not in the wrong, you’re just not good at sweeping.

    You’re right, CMaj7 consists of I – C III – E V – G VII – B

    Keep practicing.

    @solidiquis1 Wow, how mature…

    How about you go practice your ear training so that you stop mistaking major 7ths as minor chords a tritone away?

    October 29th, 2010 at 00:41 | #24

    @LukeSniper Not my fault your poor technique distorts the way it sounds.

    @LukeSniper You know what? Taking into consideration that this video is three years old, you must’e gotten better (at least I hope). I will stop with the insults here and just say that because you were relatively new to sweeping in this particular video. I mistook it for a wrongly played F# Minor and yes, I was wrong. But I still stick to me claim that the arpeggio you played sounds nothing like a Major. Good day.
