Sweep Picking Chords

How to improve my guitar skill?
Hi guys~ive been playing guitar for about 5 months now~ practice about 3-5 hours a day~ but im still finding my fingers cant move fast enough to form chords to barre chords
and getting lots of scales and stuff everyday is getting driving me crazy~ what kinds of exercise i can do to improve my skills?
right now~ i use 20% of my time playing scales
30% of my time playing chord though im still not good at changing them
and the rest of my time playing solos or learning new songs
is there any good and effective practicing suggestions you guys can give me?
should i just focus on chords or learning new songs?
i think i know pretty much all the technics for playing a song except sweep picking…
somebody please give me some advice~i really want to be good at guitar
I like to play metal stuff by the way~
Actually~ I wanna know~ what kinds of things should i focus on as a beginner~should i just learn more new songs or just stick with the scales and figure them out?
My brother had the same problem when he started playing guitar about five years ago or more. Practice helps best, and maybe a little stretching for your hands, to allow your fingers to move along the fret board better.
Start with easy-going, smooth things. Look into some blues or just mellow songs, work your way up, eventually it will come to you. Always learn your chords too, but learning full songs never hurt anyone either.
If you’re like my brother, then determination is key, he played until his fingers bled and by now very thick skin on his fingertips. But he sounds great!
Hope I helped…
