Playing electric guitar, i used this one to begin with, and i imagine it’s equally beneficial on bass. Some call it a "spider" run, basically you use all 4 fingers and start off slow, getting faster. Starting on the thinnest string, hit frets 4, 3, 2, 1. Little finger on 4, ring finger on 3, middle finger on 2 and first finger on 1. Then go to the next string down and do the same, 4321. Then the next string. Then the fattest string. After you hit the 4321 on the fattest string, now do 1234, same fingers on same frets, and move up the strings again. Repeat this, getting faster and faster at it, your finger speed will quickly build and you will also build strength in all your fingers :)
