Practice. There is no TRUE fast way to learn to play. Learn to read music because it open SO many doors to your playing. If someone tells you that you can learn the guitar in a matter of days or weeks, they’re lying. There are professional players who learn something new everyday on the guitar. Music is an evolving entity that people will never stop learning from. Sorry, didn’t mean to get philosophical!
practicing everyday and attending a music school.
if you want to learn classical or flamenco, you’re gonna need lessons, and i’m not gonna want to listen to you for a year or more.
for pop, rock, country…learn barre chords first, then work hard on your picking after.
many players learn open chords first, and they suit some kinds of music best (typically folk or country played on an acoustic guitar), but for every barre chord you learn, you would have to learn 6 different open chords as you can move the same fingering up and down the neck with a barre chord.
you will accelerate the learning curve by mastering barre chords for most types of popular music.
