    First time I really paid attention to the fact that he hooks his thumb almost all the time, except for scale runs as he approaches the D A E strings. interesting.

    @rsguitarfan In regards to how I started to really pay attention to how he hooks his thumb. I have no problems hooking my thumb either and my hands are not huge. But now I am paying special attention to do it. Why? Because it actually gives you a more natural grip of the neck,more muscle power! you can do a lot more physical things with almost 2x the strength. I have been studying him for 2 years and I always learn something new. You just have to be that super tuned into it. try it!
